Introduction
Hello, my name is Carson Holdcraft, the creator of this digital portfolio. I am currently in the 9th grade at Jamestown Highschool in Williamsburg, Virginia. During my time here at Concourse 9, I have learned about many different subjects that I would normally not even dream of working on in normal classes. This website will be showing you what projects I have worked on, what they are about, and what I learned from my work.
The descriptions that I will be giving below are only the very tip of the iceberg about what the projects that I worked on were about and what I was doing when I worked on said projects. However, I will be giving an extensive look into my projects later on in the portfolio as well as pictures of my creations.

Truth lies and in-between projectThe goal of the Truth Lies and In -between project was for the students of Concourse 9 to learn about certain myths or legends and find out about whether or not they were a truth, a lie, or an in-between. The students were split up in to groups of 3 and were given a myth or legend to research about. Even if your project was a lie, you would still try to convince your watchers that your myth was a truth. The people who watched your video would then vote whether or not it was a truth, a lie, or an in-between. |
History of medical scienceIn the project History of Medical Science, the students of Concourse 9 paired up into groups of five to create an exhibit for children about a certain topic regarding a specific topic of medical science and it's history. For my group's topic we chose sanitation and it's history as well as it's effect on modern day life. I had a lot of fun with this project as the work that we were doing was much different from typical pencil and paper projects. |
water, water, everywhereFor the Water, Water, Everywhere project the focus of the assignment wasn't so much to learn a lot of information but rather to create. In the Water, Water, Everywhere assignment we created face jugs and pots out of clay using different techniques and styles. The clay creations that we crafted are going to be sold at an auction for money that will be donated to the Thirst Project, a charity that focuses on giving tribes and villages in Africa clean and accessible water to drink and bathe with. |
